The Grand Central Himalayan Loop
The Grand Triple-Circuit Experience
The Langtang, Gosaikunda & Helambu Grand Circuit is widely celebrated by Himalayan connoisseurs as central Nepal’s most diverse and rewarding long-distance trek. By seamlessly linking three distinct geographical and cultural regions—the deep glaciated valley of Langtang, the sacred alpine lake basin of Gosaikunda (4,380m), and the tranquil Buddhist hill country of Helambu—this 14-day expedition delivers an unparalleled Himalayan adventure without any retracing of steps.

Descending to Thulo Syabru, you climb the open panoramic spine of Laurebina Ridge to the sacred pilgrimage tarns of Gosaikunda. Crossing the technical alpine pass of Laurebina Pass (4,610m), you enter the mystical realm of Helambu, following ridge crests through apple orchards, ancient Hyolmo gompas, and rhododendron forests before trekking directly to the northern rim of the Kathmandu Valley at Sundarijal.

Showing all 12 questions
How difficult is the crossing of Laurebina Pass (4,610m)?+
The crossing is high alpine and rocky, taking about 6 to 7 hours between Gosaikunda and Ghopte. Because you have already acclimatized by summiting Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) five days earlier, your body handles the pass altitude with ease.
Do we retrace any of our steps on this 14-day trek?+
No! Aside from the upper section between Lama Hotel and Kyanjin Gompa, the rest of the 14 days forms a complete continuous loop connecting Langtang, Gosaikunda, and Helambu directly into Kathmandu.
Is Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) a technical mountaineering climb?+
No technical climbing or ropes are required. Kyanjin Ri is a non-technical trekking peak with a well-trodden ridge path offering 360-degree views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding glaciers.
How is the road transport handled at the start and finish?+
On Day 1, a private 4WD Mahindra Scorpio jeep drives you from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. On Day 13, private transport picks you up at Sundarijal after exiting Shivapuri National Park for the 1-hour drive back to your Kathmandu hotel.
What are teahouse accommodations like on this circuit?+
Lodges feature cozy twin rooms, clean foam mattresses, warm quilts, and heated central dining halls serving hot meals. Private rooms are guaranteed across all stops.
What safety and emergency protocols are in place?+
Your guide carries a medical pulse oximeter for twice-daily monitoring and an alpine first-aid kit. Helipad rescue points exist at Kyanjin, Gosaikunda, and Tharepati.
How does the 15% flexible deposit policy work?+
You pay a 15% deposit ($173) online to secure your trek departure and permits. The remaining 85% is paid upon arrival in Nepal. Deposits have lifetime validity with free date changes up to 30 days prior.
What meals are included during the trek?+
Full board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) is included on all trekking days. Menus feature Dal Bhat, freshly made yak cheese dishes, potato soup, pasta, momos, porridge, and ginger honey tea.
Can the circuit be shortened or customized?+
Yes! If you have fewer days, we offer an 11-day version exiting at Dhunche, or a helicopter return from Kyanjin Gompa or Gosaikunda Lake. Contact our team for customized variations.
What permits are included in the package?+
Both Langtang National Park and Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park entry permits, plus TIMS cards, are fully included and processed by our Kathmandu office before departure.
