During the trek, you will stay in mountain teahouse lodges run by local Sherpa families. Rooms are private twin-share bedrooms equipped with wooden beds, foam mattresses, clean bedsheets, and pillows. In Kathmandu, you will stay at a premium 4-star hotel (e.g., Hotel Mulberry / Fairfield by Marriott) with private en-suite bathroom and buffet breakfast.
At lower elevations (Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar), private en-suite bathrooms and electrical charging inside the room are frequently available. Above 4,000m (Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep), lodges become more rustic with clean communal Western-style or squat toilets.

The Everest Base Camp Trek is graded Grade 4 (Moderate to Strenuous). No technical climbing, ropes, or mountaineering skills are required. However, you will walk 5 to 7 hours per day across 130 km of alpine terrain reaching a maximum altitude of 5,545m at Kala Patthar.
Recommended Training: 8 to 12 weeks of cardiovascular training (jogging, stair climbing, cycling, hill walking with a 5kg daypack). Mental stamina and steady, slow breathing ("Bistari Bistari") are the secrets to success.

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) can affect anyone above 2,500m regardless of fitness level. Symptoms include mild headache, nausea, dizziness, loss of appetite, and difficulty sleeping.
